We worked with Earlsdon Primary School for a whole year looking at a range of topics, themes and class presentations. All year groups from reception to year 6 were given the opportunity to work with Highly Sprung artists through dance, drama and film.
Each year group had the opportunity to design a program of work with our artists to best accommodate their curriculum addressing those areas in which the teachers felt could do with a different approach.
The Projects:
Reception: Exploring the theme Busy Town looking at the different jobs people do through dance and rhyme.
Yr.1: Looked at travelling and environments, both real and imagined places.
Yr.2: Professor plus created havoc and the only way to save the planet was to solve
some serious Maths problems.
Yr3: Created a performance about culture and religion.
Yr4: Looked at dreamtime, they created a small book of tales, a performance and an aboriginal cave!
Yr5: Recreated the moon landing on film and using literacy skills created a film report of a selection of space stories.
Yr6: Took Maths back to the Blitz with a collection of thematic tasks and problems. The year 6 classes also took part in a legacy project to brighten up the school playground and leave their mark by creating a huge mural.
