Headline Performances

Every evening, our directors Sarah and Mark took us through the evening programme. We shared creative responses to the theme ‘Unlocked,’  a documentary about our 2014 show ‘PALS,’ hosted a Q & A and premiered two new digital performances from the Sprungsters: ‘WAKE’ and ‘THE UNSEEN.’

We hope that the Physical Fellowship: Unlocked has inspired  you to think about the brilliance of the young people that we work with.

As part of this digital festival we’re asking you to consider whether you would Sponsor A Sprungster. Could you donate the amount that you would have usually spent on a ticket coming to see the festival?

Every pound will go straight back into our work with young people, and we will also be investing in new programmes, taking Sprungsters into the community to connect with young people that haven’t yet worked with us. Everyone should have the right to unlock their potential, and we want our work to be accessible to all.

If you like to make a donation, however big or small, please visit our Sponsor a Sprungster page here.

The Physical Fellowship

The UK’s only physical performance festival exclusively for young people.

Highly Sprung’s Physical Fellowship was established over ten years ago to give young people the opportunity to explore their understanding and experience of physical theatre.

To this day, it remains a unique and exciting opportunity for 11 to 24-year-olds to immerse themselves completely in physical theatre practice, working with renowned professional artists to make and present original work.

Highly Sprung artists hold two whole-day workshops with participating schools and youth groups to teach physical theatre skills. Students are inspired to use physical techniques to then create their own piece of original physical theatre.

Students then attend a day of workshops, seminars and masterclasses delivered by visiting professional companies, including Frantic Assembly and Complicité. Here they further develop and explore new skills with leading professionals.

Students are then given a professional platform to present their work in a festival showcase, supported by a headline performance from Highly Sprung’s own youth theatre company, Sprungsters.
“A wonderful combination of fun and hard work and a great opportunity to take part in an intensive devising process.”
