We are so thrilled to be partnering the wonderful team at Metro Boulot Dodo to choreograph a professional and community cast on this spectacular event.
Rehearsals with the cast begin this week as part of a five-day residency. We are working at the Core, Corby, to produce the movement sections of the performance. Secret masses, executions, ravens on poles and a lot of plotting is expected to take place as we explore the historic story of the Gunpowder plot and translate the twists and turns of the tale into choreography.
The event is set to attract more than 2000 audience each night (Saturday 3rd and Monday 5th November) and with a backdrop of beautiful original animations we have had to work hard to develop movement which captures the drama and epic scale of the story.
We have been challenged to create a performance which can be seen by a mass audience and had to come up with a creative solution to ensure everyone will see the action... so... say hello to Pearl and Percy our two brand new 5.2m poles!
As you can see Mark has had a brilliant time facing his fear of heights... He's totally over it right?
Maybe that's something he can keep working on as he prepares for his role as the performance's narrator 'The Crow'.
Meanwhile, professional performers and Highly Sprung team members, AJ, Emily and Ben have loved the opportunity to devise movement 5 metres off the ground.
We can't wait to see the creativity of the community cast come to life this week and hope you can all join us at Boughton House for the Gunpowder Plot on Saturday 3rd or Monday 5th November.
