SPRUNGSTERS IS A PERFORMANCE BASED YOUTH GROUP WITH A DIFFERENCE
Sprungsters offers a new approach to the more traditional styles of performing and performing arts classes for children and young people aged 4-21 through weekly workshops using physical theatre, to develop imagination, promote creativity and inspire enjoyment.
Combining drama, speech and movement to produce a very physical approach to theatre making, Sprungsters takes participants on a creative journey, giving them the time and space to develop their own voice in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Sprungsters' unique style of delivering workshops and performances, aim to ensure that each student leaves with a brighter and more confident outlook.

Sprungsters 4-11 give children a chance to explore Dance, Drama and Voice work through a creative process.
All the work created at Sprungsters is participant led and is shaped, developed and driven by professional instructors.

Sprungsters provides children with a chance to play, meet new friends and learn new skills through movement, drama and voice work.
Creativity is celebrated and developed to encourage confidence, imagination and enthusiasm for new ideas.
Sprungsters 4-11 is split into 4 age specific groups.
As children move through the groups their creativity becomes ability, developing skills as confident and imaginative performers.
Sessions develop through a range of styles, approaches and performance opportunities where the emphasis is always on group work.
Each term new exciting and challenging themes and ideas are introduced that are explored and developed to shape performance for presentation.
Importantly there is always plenty of time for fun and game play!
Sprungsters 11+ gives participants the chance to explore drama, dance and voice through a creative process at an intermediate level.
All the work created is participant led and is shaped developed and driven by professional instructors. The sessions inspire imaginative, confident and positive young people that have the potential to be excellent performers, thinkers and creatives.
Sprungsters 11+ offer an introduction to and development of skills in physical theatre, contemporary theatre and dance. Providing fresh new insights into drama and devised performance, where participants learn skills to enable them to make their own work.
Participants experience the creation and exploration of physical theatre, where skills in drama and dance fuse, producing a dynamic and engaging performance style. All delivered in a supportive environment where young people can develop performance skills, meet new people and do new things.
Sprungsters 11+ have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of performance opportunities every year. From informal sharing of work to friends and families, taking part in carnival and large-scale outdoor productions (such as working with Heartbreak Productions- Alice’s Adventures) and more formal performances (inclusion as part of The Physical Fellowship at the Belgrade, Coventry).
Sessions are two hours long and involve skill development in physical theatre, dance and drama through game, body conditioning, group work and technique classes.
Sprungsters 11+ is suitable for any young person aged 11+ looking to develop skills in new areas of performance, with the energy and enthusiasm to try new things, challenge themselves and work alongside new people.
Sprungsters - Advance provides a range of professional standard performance opportunities and projects, which in the past have included site-specific work, carnival and studio performances.
Participant creativity and expression is central in the development of performance work.
Participants have the opportunity to explore text based plays, adaptions and produce devised performance. Sprungsters - Advance are also presented with many other opportunities to create and take part in performance projects.
Past opportunities have included The National Theatre's Connections Festival for young people, a national festival of new plays for young people and a performance for the Huntington's Disease National Family Conference.
Sprungsters - Advance produce at least one full-scale performance each year. The group creates, produces and performs the headline performance at The Physical Fellowship at The Belgrade, Coventry, as part of the UK’s only physical theatre festival specifically for young people.
Sprungsters - Advance gives young people the opportunity to gain experience as a professional performance company for one night a week. It provides professional artists as leaders who develop advanced physical theatre skills with participants with the focus on creating performances.
Each week rehearsals include games, body conditioning, technique classes focussing on physical theatre, directed rehearsal and group devising tasks.
Sprungsters - Advance demands a high level of commitment where attendance includes extra rehearsal and performance dates throughout the year. Entrance to Sprungsters - Advance is by invitation only.
If you are 13+ and would like to join the Sprungsters - Advance application is open to any young person with a passion for making new performance, working collaboratively with others, with a strong sense commitment and determination to achieve excellent results.
Please get in touch with a letter of application outlining your experience and reasons for wanting to join the group. Joining offers will then be made based on the assessment of your application letter and your suitability for the group.
